One Step at a Time

When we focus solely on the destination, it may appear overwhelming due to how far out it is from our grasps.

Yet, when we break it down into manageable steps, it becomes less daunting.

Ask yourself, "Can I take one step?" If the answer is yes, proceed, and then ask again, "Can I take another step?" Repeat this process until it becomes second nature. With consistent effort, this approach triggers a snowball effect, propelling you forward effortlessly.

By pairing this mindset with the 1% rule, you initiate compounding progress. This principle revolves around the concept of improving yourself by just 1% each day. It means that you don't necessarily need one significant event, but rather consistent daily efforts. Over time, these small, incremental improvements compound, leading to remarkable growth and achievements. It really shows how far you can progress by just aiming towards the right path and moving one step at a time.

Clock In Every Day

At times, it's not about doing a lot at once, but rather about doing it consistently every single day. Day in and Day out, showing up even when you feel like crap.

Darren Lee, founder and CEO of Voics, says that,
"90% of podcasts don’t get past episode 3.
1,800,000 podcasts QUIT before they even get started.
Of the 200,000 left, 90% quit after 20 episodes."

With repeated practice, you will figure out the intricacies of any task. Persevere, and you will grow enough to create a foundation for consistency.

Implementing frameworks prevents things from spiraling out of control, taking away the feeling of wanting to quit, while providing structure and maintaining order. Systems enable you to rely on a set framework, ensuring everything stays on track and setting standards for your production.

These systems will allow you to show up everyday as it is the backbone of production.

Clocking in and getting your work done every single day will become repetitive. It will become boring. And it will become tiring. But, people don't want to do the boring and lame tasks everyday. That's why persistently engaging in these tasks leads to creating something worthwhile. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day. Cultivating and establishing something of value requires time and effort.

Suffering will Occur

There is no doubt that one morning you will wake up and not feel like doing anything. Or when you have no energy and you don’t have the will to finish it. Or when you encounter unexpected obstacles that derail your plans. Or when self-doubt creeps in and whispers that you're not capable of achieving your goals. Or when external pressures and distractions threaten to pull you off course.

Suffering is inevitable, and if not controlled, it will disrupt and stop your efforts to improve every single day.

Rather than allowing suffering to hinder your progress, you can harness its transformative power to fuel your journey of incremental improvement.

When faced with tough spots, focus on doing just one thing that will propel you forward.

If you find yourself lying in bed, start by moving just one leg off the bed, then the other, and finally your body.

If you're struggling to go to the gym, begin by putting on your workout clothes. Then, take the next step of lacing up your shoes. Finally, step outside your door and head towards the gym.

When it comes to starting work on your personal business, begin by setting up your workspace. Organize your desk, turn on your computer, and gather any necessary materials. Then, focus on completing one small, manageable task, such as responding to an email or updating your website.

Instead of focusing on the end goal, shift your focus to each individual small step along the way. By taking these initial steps, you'll build momentum and set yourself up for productivity.

Quote of the Day

“Discipline is doing what you hate to do, but doing it like you love it.” - Mike Tyson

Imagine the progress you'll achieve by approaching the things you hate with passion and drive.
